I am an award winning artist and community art educator living in Plain City, a rural northwestern suburb of Columbus, Ohio.  I have a Masters of Art Education from University of Florida and a BFA from Columbus College of Art & Design.  I enjoy creating works of art on commission, painting murals, creating large scale chalk murals for street painting festivals, and teaching art privately in my home studio as well as other venues in the Central Ohio area.

Community activism has always been important to me.  I am an avid supporter of public schools and feel that every child should have access to good quality art education. The two videos in the capstone project for my master’s degree: Every Child Deserves an Art Education and Art Education Builds 21st Century Skills reflect that passion.  Bringing art to my community is a key aspect of that effort.  I teach art an after school art program in the Jonathan Alder School District in the federally funded 21st Century Grant Program.

My art education philosophy is simple....I believe children are born artists just as Picasso stated.  I also feel that adults who haven't picked up a paintbrush in years can reconnect with their creative selves.  Anyone who has the desire can learn to draw and paint and I enjoy fostering that in the community.
